George Vala crash landed onto the house music scene at the 2009 Winter Music Conference with an unforgettable performance at Grass/The King Is Dead. His eclectic taste for atmospheric tech and deep house resonated well beyond that debut performance and resulted in a series of monthly residencies at Om (Boston), Splash (Boston), and Veranda (NYC). He is currently partner/co-founder of PUBLIQ INC. and co-creator of Sunday Groove at District (Boston) with DJ/producer Tamer Malki.

In 2010 Vala released, "Provokateur", an original flamenco tech house track with friend/collaborator, Audioprophecy, through Gramola,Rec (Spain). It immediately solidified Vala's reputation as a producer interested in creating uniquely accessible tech house with organic flare. The duo's follow-up, "Gringo Brass", was released one month later by Grande Buffo (Germany) and was selected by legendary Buddha Bar maestro DJ Ravin for release on Buddha Bar’s "Dubai Eklectic" (George V Records).

Their follow-up release, "State Trooper", was featured on Ministry of Sound radio and has received full support from Mojo Filter, Serge Devant, Alfonso Padilla, and many more. The duo next paired up with Grande Buffo’s Space Ranger for a remix of their smash hit "Night Moves" (Lovemonk) in February 2011.

Vala's next collaboration with Audioprophecy, a remix of Tony Seal's "Danza Del Viento", earned the pair a spot on the infamous Buddha Bar XII and resulted in a full licensing of their catalog for the upcoming Buddha Bar 12 yr. anniversary compilation series.

Vala grew up with world-renowned Greek musicians rocking his living room in the outskirts of New York City as a child. His grandfather owned the largest Greek-American record label throughout most ofthe 70’s, which had a tremendous influence on Vala at an early age. He learned the bouzouki at the age of six, guitar at seven, drums at nine, and by high school he somehow managed to play every instrument in his school's marching band.

It was during college that Vala jump-started his production career from the confines of his dormitory using guitar, synthesizer and vocals. When he was asked to compose the music for a video game demo at ATI Graphics, Vala jumped at the opportunity. He later went on to complete video game scores for various projects published by Microsoft, THQ, and Tencent. During that time his musical taste began to change when close friend, DJ Tarek Antabi, challenged Vala to produce his first ever house track in 2005, "OK to GO" was born and
the rest is history...

That history includes having worked with Living Sound Entertainment, a Boston-based production group, who approached Vala in 2007 to create a series of remixes for EMI Japan. He went on to remix three Miles Davis tracks and critically acclaimed "Utsuroiro" by Douzan Yamamoto, whose video for the track later went on to win Best Short Music Video at the Shanghai Film Festival. Vala's relationship with EMI evolved into remixing popular house tracks for compilation albums. From there he merged his production and live performance experience by uniquely reworking his original material into a playable live show and performed under the name "Deftchild" with fellow producer Takis G. Vala played his original music live and featured guest musicians from all around New England. His remix of "Untold" for Krysta Youngs' debut album "Stories" received stellar reviews, identifying Vala as “one to look out for.”

Though Vala loved the challenge of live performance, lugging tons of equipment around for rehearsals and performances soon become too difficult to sustain as gigs kept pouring in. In an effort to simplify, he decided to scale down to DJing his own material. Incorporating other music was the next logical step in the process. Finally, at one of his most notable gigs to date, Vala emerged to the public as a house DJ at the 2009 Winter Music Conference in Miami.

Vala’s recent DJ appearances range from clubs and lounges in Boston to Shanghai. A residency at Veranda, the newest super lounge in New York City and District in Boston are also under his belt. Spring 2011 marks the beginning of an exciting venture for Vala as resident DJ at Bijou, Boston's newest super club.

Vala works full time as Audio Director, composer and sound designer for Tencent Interactive Entertainment Division. Recently, he teamed with DJ/Producer Tamer Malki to form Publiq Inc., a production company in Boston.
