On Sunday, August 1st, set sail on a 5 hour boat cruise for an evening with friends and fellow house music lovers as we welcome the last month of summer the only way we know how - with a great party under the stars!!

We set sail at 5pm sharp from Rowes Wharf (directly behind the Boston Harbor Hotel) on a large 3 level boat with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the sunset. Halfway through the trip the boat will dock and the party continues at the Seadog Lounge in Hull!!!

What a great summer it has been. The completion of WoZ for the Wii/Ninetendo DS, the development of my very first iPhone app (more on this in the next few weeks), and lots and lots of production has me foaming at the mouth with rabid energy. I've been hard at work on three tracks to kick off the new fall season: "Whispers (Re-Edit)", "Foxe", and "White Flash". This weekend I have the great Stacy Kimball coming up to Boston to record the vocals on "White Flash", a big room track and probably my favorite of the three. Krysta Youngs has also agreed to sing on the track, which has me going in circles with ideas for a female duet. "Foxe" is a super cool deep latin house track I wrote coming off WoZ and features the amazing operatic workings of Glenda Landavazo. Seriously, this girl has a beautiful voice - sounds like chocolate.

Last night I had the privilege of attending "Roar" at Berklee's Cafe 939. The line-up included Lisa Bello, Krysta Youngs, and Casey Desmond. I left the show with a renewed hope for this town and the talent it produces as well as a new anger for this town and the lack of channels it has to help the talent it produces. All three of these acts were extremely talented and should have the opportunity to play more frequently all over this town in various venues. Sadly, it's not as easy as it seems. With the recent bastardizing of Landsdowne Street we've lost one of the last hotspots for music to chain restaurants and cheesy theme halls. The good thing to come out of all of this is that I got to speak to some of the vocalists after the show and they were all keen to work on re-interpretations of their material. I've also been a fan of collaboration as I feel it provides perspective into our individual careers and also opens lots of doors, so we'll see what comes of it.

Now that I've finished ranting, I'm off to the studio with Stacy. It's going to be an exciting season and I cant wait to share everything I've been working on for the last 6 months with all of you.

The game is an amazing toybox experience that allows you to interact with various animals in exotic locations using the Wii remote. With 3 years of development behind us we're in the final weeks before we hand off to Nintendo so, as you can imagine, post-production and polish are our primary concerns. I tried to push the audio envelope a bit further than expected on a mass-market game of this "nature" :) with the help of Audiokinetic's wWise Sound Engine so get ready for some really fun ear candy.

Good news is we will be completely finished by the end of July and then I'll be wrapping up my next project with DJ/producer/friend Tamer Malki. As the summer progresses you'll see more dates and release information right here at georgevala.com. It's the calm before the storm...

The boys recently released a virtual instrument called Evolve that has gone on to receive tremendous accolades in the industry, earning EM's Editor's Choice Award and support from film composers Hanz Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams. We recorded a lot of great material and I'm looking forward to spending the next week editing it all...

As far as new tracks, I have 3 in the works (including the never-ending "Factory Made") and the WMC mixes should be up shortly. I'll be back in Boston this weekend.

Welcome to the new site. I'm kicking this one off with a little summary of WMC. This was my first year at WMC and I had a blast. Unfortunately, I could only make it down for the weekend but, nevertheless, got a great taste of the city thanks to my friend Marni.

Saturday night I played Tech' Garden at Grass/TheKingIsDead and rocked it pretty hard. Two 2 hour sets and several compliments after I finally got to relax and hit the pool. It couldn't have gone better. I'll be uploading both full sets as soon as I get back so come visit the site again in a few days for the free download.
